GT Seal Thrilling Victory Over PBKS in IPL 2024 Clash
In a gripping IPL 2024 encounter at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, Gujarat Titans (GT) showcased a balanced performance to clinch a three-wicket win against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday.
Opting to chase a target of 143, GT’s openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha set a positive tone. However, Saha departed early after contributing 13 runs. Sai Sudarshan joined Gill, adding 41 runs together before Gill fell for 35. Subsequent wickets of David Miller and Sudarshan left GT at 97/4.

Despite wickets tumbling, Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahul Tewatia kept the chase alive. Omarzai managed only 13 runs, while Tewatia anchored the innings with an unbeaten 36. Some late wickets fell, but GT reached the target with five balls to spare.
For PBKS, Harshal Patel’s 3/15 stood out as he troubled GT’s batsmen. Earlier, PBKS, after winning the toss, scored 142 in their 20 overs. Openers Prabhsimran Singh and Sam Curran gave them a flying start with 50 runs in 5.2 overs. However, a flurry of wickets, with Sai Kishore’s 4/33 and contributions from Mohit Sharma and Noor Ahmad, limited PBKS to 142.
Brief Score: Gujarat Titans 146/7 in 19.1 overs (Rahul Tewatia 36*, Shubman Gill 35, Harshal Patel 3/15) defeated Punjab Kings 142 in 20 overs (Prabhsimran Singh 35, Harpreet Brar 29, Sai Kishore 4/33).
