Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted on Friday that the growing demand for new aircraft from Indian airlines is set to bring renewed energy to the global aviation market. Speaking at an event at aircraft maker Boeing in Bengaluru, he emphasized the significant role women are playing in the aviation and aerospace sector, leading in both fighter and civil aircraft.

“Due to growing demand, airlines in India have ordered hundreds of aircraft. India is set to give new energy to the global aviation market,” stated the Prime Minister. He further noted that India has become the third major domestic aviation market globally, and within a decade, the number of passengers is expected to double.

    Women Leading in Aviation

In his address, PM Modi underscored the growing presence of women in the aviation sector, highlighting that 15% of pilots in the country are women, which is three times the global average. He expressed that the time for women-led development has come, acknowledging the important contributions of women in shaping the future of aviation.

The Prime Minister’s remarks reflect the positive trajectory and potential growth of the aviation industry in India, with a focus on both increased demand for aircraft and the active participation of women in various roles within the sector.
