Govt Degree College Kilhotran (Bhalessa) Celebrates National Voters’ Day 2026


Kilhotran, Bhalessa: Govt. Degree College Kilhotran (Bhalessa) celebrated National Voters’ Day 2026 in online mode with enthusiasm and a strong message of democratic awareness.

The programme was organized under the leadership of Prof. Zain Batt, HOD , Political Science and held under the overall supervision of Prof. Anita Jamwal, Principal of the College.
The event aimed at sensitizing students about the importance of voting and encouraging informed participation in the democratic process, especially among young and first-time voters. On the occasion, a keynote lecture was delivered by Prof. Zain Batt, HOD, Political Science and Convenor SVEEP and ELC, who elaborated on the significance of National Voters’ Day and the vital role of youth in strengthening democracy.


In his address, Prof. Batt emphasized that voting is both a constitutional right and a civic duty. He highlighted the objectives of SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) and the role of the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) in promoting ethical, informed, and participatory voting practices.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the programme.

A voters’ pledge was also administered, reaffirming commitment to free, fair, and inclusive elections. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the guidance of the Principal and the coordinated efforts of the faculty and students.


The celebration of National Voters’ Day 2026 at Govt. Degree College Kilhotran (Bhalessa) successfully reinforced democratic values and inspired students to become responsible and aware voters.
