Goods Train Derails Near Jammu, Disrupting Services for Hours

Two wagons of a goods train derailed near Sangar railway station in Jammu on Sunday, causing a significant disruption in train services for several hours. The incident occurred on the Udhampur-Bari-Brahman section at approximately 12:15 pm. Fortunately, no major property damage or injuries were reported.
Divisional Traffic Manager Prateek Srivastava stated, “Today a goods train going from Udhampur-Bari-Brahman passed here around 12:15 pm. Two wagons of the rear side got derailed on the mainline. Due to this, rail traffic was disrupted for some time, and some trains have been delayed.”
Efforts to restore normal train operations began immediately, and the movement of trains resumed after a brief suspension. Srivastava added, “There has been no loss of life or property. Restoration work is underway.”
Train services were affected as a result of the derailment, causing delays to several scheduled trains. More information is expected as restoration efforts continue and officials investigate the cause of the derailment.
