Govt. Degree College (GDC) Kastigarh celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with a variety of events, paying tribute to the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. The celebration, held under the leadership of Principal Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra, featured a seminar, a bhajan singing competition, an essay competition, a slogan writing contest, and a reels-making competition.
Each event was designed to highlight Gandhi Ji’s enduring philosophy of truth and non-violence.
In his address, Prof. Mangotra emphasized the importance of Gandhi’s contributions to education, peace, and societal transformation. He encouraged students to follow the principles of simplicity and non-violence in their lives, as Gandhi had demonstrated.
The participants, through their creative performances, reflected deeply on Gandhi’s ideals, showcasing their understanding and appreciation of his legacy.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from students and staff alike. Kavita Devi and Amisha Devi stood out for their outstanding performances and were selected to represent GDC Kastigarh at the district-level competition, a testament to the college’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting academic excellence.
The proceedings were conducted by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, who ensured the event ran smoothly and efficiently. The celebrations were supported by the collective efforts of the faculty, including Prof. Sat Pal, Dr. Anupam Lata, Ghulam Qadir, Manmohan Kotwal, Asiya Nazir, and Sachin Thakur, whose dedication contributed to the event’s success. The program concluded with a renewed sense of commitment to Gandhian values.
