In a remarkable turn of events, the picturesque region of Jammu and Kashmir has seen an astonishing 350% increase in foreign tourist arrivals following the G20 meeting hosted in Srinagar in May. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced this heartening news during an event held to inaugurate the Vistadome rail coach at Nowgam railway station.
Tourism Boom in J-K: 1.70 Crore Tourists Flock to the Paradise State
Since the beginning of this year, an impressive 1.70 crore tourists have graced the enchanting landscapes of Jammu and Kashmir, marking a significant uptick in the region’s tourism sector. The G20 meeting held in Srinagar, specifically the third tourism working group meeting of the G20 member countries, has played a pivotal role in this remarkable increase.

Sinha emphasized the importance of the newly introduced Vistadome coach for the region’s tourism industry. This luxurious rail coach is set to not only facilitate travel from Budgam to Banihal but also generate employment opportunities for the local youth in Budgam, Qazigund, and Banihal. Additionally, it promises to offer tourists a unique perspective to behold the splendors of Kashmir.
Enhancing Tourist Experience with Vistadome: A Step Toward J-K’s Development
The state-of-the-art Vistadome coach, equipped with cutting-edge entertainment features and comfortable seating arrangements, is poised to transform the way tourists experience the natural beauty of Kashmir. With its rotating seats, transparent glass roof, and panoramic windows offering 360-degree views, it’s set to become a major attraction for visitors to the valley.This remarkable addition to the region’s transportation infrastructure is expected to boost tourism significantly, particularly during the upcoming winter season. Operating six days a week, the Vistadome coach will travel from Budgam to Banihal in the morning and make the return journey in the evening.
