The story began on October 17, 2023, when the Police Station in Bemina received information from reliable sources regarding the discovery of an unidentified woman’s lifeless body on the roadside in Durbal, Bemina. In response to this distressing report, a team from the Bemina Police Station promptly rushed to the scene to secure the body and preserve the area.
Following these initial actions, the authorities filed Case FIR No 101/2023 under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code at the Bemina Police Station, and a thorough investigation was launched. The victim was later identified as Tanveera, the wife of Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, who resided in Nundresh Colony B, Batamaloo, Srinagar.A diligent inquiry, spearheaded by the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of West, with valuable assistance from the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Bemina Police Station, shed light on the circumstances of the woman’s tragic demise.
It was determined that she had been murdered at West End Colony, Hyderpora, on October 16, 2023. An underage female, whose name was withheld, was also detained, along with Gh Mohd Ahanger, the son of the late Haji Gh. Hussain Ahanger, residing in Khushipora HMT and presently at Gulposh Apartment in Bemina.
Additionally, Jala Wadoo, the wife of Gh. Mohd Ahanger and resident of Khushipora HMT, now living in Gulposh Apartment Bemina (the parents of the first accused), were brought in for questioning. The investigation into this case continues, with the authorities working diligently to ensure that justice is served.
