Fire Claims Elderly Life in Jawahar-Nagar, Srinagar

A senior citizen met a tragic end in a fire incident that occurred on Wednesday evening in the Jawahar Nagar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

According to an official statement, a fire erupted in the residential house belonging to Bashir Ahmad Parnoo, the son of the late Mohammad Amin, in Jawahar Nagar. Despite the combined efforts of the fire and emergency services, the police, and local residents, the fire was eventually brought under control. Unfortunately, during the process of clearing the debris, the charred remains of the homeowner were discovered.

The official mentioned, “The body of the house owner was found in a charred condition, and it was subsequently transported to the hospital for medico-legal formalities. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.”
