A tragic incident unfolded in the Daksum area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Wednesday evening, resulting in one fatality and injuries to four individuals. The accident involved the overturning of a temple vehicle bearing registration number HR 55 AM 5306, which was carrying tourists.

According to an official statement provided to the news agency Kashmir Scroll, the mishap led to the immediate death of one person at the accident site, while the remaining four victims sustained serious injuries. Swift action was taken to transport them to GMC Anantnag for advanced medical care.

A police officer, confirming the details of the road accident to Kashmir Scroll, identified the deceased as 32-year-old Durgais Naik, the son of Guru Hari from Bhutrak, Odisha. The injured parties were recognized as 29-year-old Vikram Kumar, son of Gautam Kumar Naik from Bhutrak, Odisha; 35-year-old Surjit Kumar, son of Narenjander Kumar from Odisha; and approximately 30-year-old Basant Kumar, son of Ravender Kumar from Odisha.

The officer further stated that a case has been registered in connection with the incident, and an ongoing investigation is underway.
