Farooq Abdullah Controversial-Remark on J-K Amid Supreme Court’s Article 370 Validation
National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah sparked controversy on Tuesday with his statement outside Parliament, declaring, “Jammu and Kashmir should go to hell.
This remark came in the wake of the recent Supreme Court validation of the 2019 revocation of Article 370, which had granted special status to the former state. In a video clip, Abdullah asserted, “Jammu Kashmir should go to hell (Jammu Kashmir Jahannum Mai Jaye). What more can I say? You (central government) have taken the state there.

” The BJP promptly reacted to the comment, with Shehzad Poonwalla criticizing Abdullah’s statements and calling for condemnation from the INDIA bloc. Amit Malviya, the BJP IT Cell head, also took a dig at the Kashmiri leader.
In another video shared by news agency ANI, Abdullah reiterated his stance, questioning the absence of elections in the state and expressing skepticism about the claimed elimination of terrorism.
Abdullah recalled informing the Prime Minister about the mutual lack of trust, stating, “You don’t trust us, and we don’t trust you.” He underscored the government’s need to win hearts and questioned the fulfillment of promises made by the Prime Minister regarding the reduction of distance.
The Supreme Court’s unanimous decision on Monday upheld the abrogation of Article 370, directing assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by September-end and the restoration of statehood “at the earliest.”
The five-judge bench delivered three concurring judgments supporting the abrogation that had accorded a unique status to Jammu and Kashmir since its accession to the Union of India in 1947.
