Family Alleges Medical Negligence in Uri Woman’s Death; Inquiry Ordered
SRINAGAR: A woman allegedly dies due to medical negligence in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.
Mohammad Reyaz, the deceased’s husband said that on July 18, his wife was admitted to the SDH Uri and underwent ligation surgery and was discharged the next day.
“After some days, my wife’s health worsened, and her feet began to swell. On July 29, I brought my wife back to Uri hospital in the evening,” he said.
“The gynecologist on duty refused to examine her, despite explaining the severity of her condition,” he claimed.
Another doctor eventually transferred them to Baramulla, but his wife died upon reaching there.
Reyaz insisted that his wife died due to the negligence of the doctors and appealed for an inquiry into the matter.
However, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Uri, Balvinder Singh said that an inquiry team has been constituted to investigate the incident.
“Legal action would be taken against anyone found guilty,” he said.(GNS)
