Empowering Women: GDC Kishtwar Hosts Seminar on Health and Hygiene
Kishtwar, April 27, 2024: Today, the Women’s Grievance Cell of GDC Kishtwar orchestrated an engaging session and consultation on Women’s Health and Hygiene, under the patronage of Prof. Basharat Iqbal, Principal of GDC Kishtwar.
Empowering Through Knowledge
Dr. Tabassum Saleem, Convenor of the Women’s Grievance Cell along with Dr. Yasar Ahmed and Dr. Sehrish Gazal, spearheaded the program with the goal of empowering women with essential knowledge on various health issues they may face. The seminar featured Dr. Shafiqa Dar, a distinguished Senior Consultant Gynaecologist, as the guest speaker. Dr. Dar’s insightful discourse highlighted the critical importance of healthcare and proper hygiene practices in women’s daily lives.
Insightful Discourse on Women’s Health
Dr. Dar discussed different aspects of womanhood, menstrual hygiene practices, and various types of cancers affecting women. Dr. Tabassum Saleem delivered the formal welcome address, underscoring the seminar’s aim to cultivate a well-informed female population.
Dr. Shafiqa Dar’s Informative Presentation imparted valuable insights on women’s health, followed by an Expression of Gratitude for her expertise. Dr. Dar also gave on-spot free consultation to various students related to menstrual problems.
Dr. Sehrish Gazal concluded the seminar with a Closing Vote of Thanks.The event saw active participation from both teaching and non-teaching faculty members, including Dr. Vijay Kumar, Prof. Ajeet Kumar, Prof. Jaideep, Prof. Sonika Sen, Prof. Asma Javaid, Prof. Sheikh Mohd Usman, Prof. Omraj, and Suram Singh, alongside approximately 150 engaged students.
This initiative by the GDC Kishtwar Women’s Grievance Cell stands as a commendable endeavor in fostering a culture of women’s health awareness and promoting overall well-being within the college community.
