    Doda Police Seize Six Dumpers for Illegal Mining, ₹1.31 Lakh Fine Imposed

    Jammu and Kashmir Police in Doda district seized six dumpers involved in illegal transportation of construction material during a crackdown against illegal mining and imposed a total fine of ₹1,31,080.

    The action was carried out on the directions of Sandeep Mehta, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda. Police teams from Police Post Khellani under Police Station Doda, Police Post Bhalla under Police Station Bhaderwah, and Police Post Premnagar under Police Station Thathri intercepted the vehicles during routine checking in their respective jurisdictions.

    During the checking, the police found the vehicles transporting minor mineral (bajri) without valid GR/Form-A documents. The vehicles were immediately seized and the matter was referred to the Department of Geology and Mining Jammu and Kashmir for further legal action. The District Mineral Officer (DMO) Doda subsequently imposed penalties on the vehicle owners.

    Vehicle number JK02CR-9969 driven by Baldev Raj, son of Sukh Ram and a resident of Dansal, was seized by Police Post Khellani and fined ₹30,400. Another dumper bearing registration number JK02CU-6469, driven by Sanjay Kumar, son of Romalo Ram and a resident of Jindrah Jammu, was also seized by Police Post Khellani and fined ₹30,400.

    Similarly, dumper JK06B-2830 driven by Ajay Kumar, son of Romesh Chand from Udrana Bhaderwah, and dumper JK06C-9368 driven by Suneet Kumar, son of Daleep Kumar from Himote Bhaderwah, were seized by Police Post Bhalla and each vehicle was fined ₹20,280.

    Another vehicle JK06B-6501 driven by Shoket Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad and a resident of Chatroo Kishtwar, was also seized by Police Post Bhalla and fined ₹15,520. The sixth dumper JK06B-3501 driven by Kungi Lal, son of Gian Chand from Langhote Bijarni Doda, was seized by Police Post Premnagar and fined ₹14,200.

    Police said all six vehicles were found carrying construction material illegally at different locations across the district.

    The police reiterated that strict action will continue against illegal mining and transportation of minor minerals across Jammu and Kashmir, adding that such drives will remain ongoing to curb environmental violations and ensure compliance with mining regulations.
