Among Diu’s landmarks is the formidable Diu fort, a relic of its Portuguese colonial era. Dating back to the 16th century, this architectural marvel stands as a testament to Diu’s rich history. Alongside its Portuguese-era churches, such as the Church of St. Paul, the fort adds a historical dimension to the island’s allure.
Adding to Diu’s charm is the Gangeshwar Mahadev temple, situated in Fudam Village, with its unique setting of five Shiva lingas on the Arabian Sea coast. Legend has it that these lingas were installed by the Pandavas. Despite the ebb and flow of the tide, the lingas remain a mystical sight, evoking a sense of reverence among visitors.
