Today, an additional 118 cases of dengue have emerged from various regions of Jammu and Kashmir, pushing this year’s total to 3,528 reported cases.

According to a health official, the latest figures reveal that Jammu district alone accounted for 63 of the new cases, with Udhampur reporting 36, Kathua 8, Samba 7, and isolated cases in Reasi and Ramban. Additionally, two cases were confirmed in the Kashmir region. These cases encompass 105 adults and 13 children.

Jammu district stands out with the highest number of reported dengue cases, totaling 2,392 cases, followed by Udhampur with 396, Kathua with 270, and Samba with 233 cases. Other affected regions include Rajouri (68 cases), Reasi (33), Ramban (32), Doda (28), Poonch (23), Kishtwar (4), and 17 cases in Kashmir. Additionally, 28 cases were recorded in other parts of the country.

The official also shared that 1,152 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals to date. Of these, 1,037 have been discharged, while 84 patients are currently receiving treatment.The official expressed concern about the increasing number of dengue cases and advised citizens to prevent water stagnation in and around their homes, as the mosquitoes responsible for transmitting dengue thrive in stagnant water.
