
Delhi Police Bust Radicalised Module, Arrest 4 Across States
New Delhi, Apr 18 (VoM News): In a coordinated intelligence-led operation, the has arrested four radicalised individuals from Maharashtra, Odisha and Bihar in connection with an alleged terror module influenced by extremist ideology and online radicalisation networks.
According to DCP Special Cell , the accused were reportedly influenced by narratives advocating the formation of a “Khurasan-based lashkar,” establishment of a caliphate, and participation in “Ghazwa-e-Hind.” Officials said the group was also attempting to radicalise others through encrypted digital platforms.
An FIR has been registered at the Special Cell Police Station under relevant provisions of the . Police also recovered suspected materials used for preparing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), along with mobile phones and other digital devices allegedly used for communication.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mosaib Ahmad alias Sonu alias Kalam from Thane, Mohammad Hammad from Mumbai, Sheikh Imran from Bhubaneswar, and Mohammad Sohail from Katihar in Bihar.
Officials said the module operated through closed encrypted groups where discussions allegedly focused on recruitment, propaganda, fundraising and extremist planning. Investigators also found attempts to raise funds through QR codes and bank accounts under the guise of ideological activities.
Preliminary findings suggest some members were engaged in scouting sensitive locations in Delhi, including areas such as Red Fort and India Gate, during December 2025. Police further said the group showed signs of coordination across states, though still in a developing stage.
Authorities are now probing financial transactions, digital footprints, and possible external links as part of a wider investigation into the network.
