The Indian Army conducted the ‘Army Veterans Honour Run’ at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, showcasing the indomitable spirit of the armed forces.

This event, known as the Indian Army Veterans Half Marathon (IAVHM), featured a 21.1 km race to commemorate the valor of Army veterans, disabled soldiers, and the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Organized by the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), this marathon stands as a tribute to the dedication and bravery of these remarkable individuals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on December 7, paid heartfelt homage to the soldiers on Armed Forces Flag Day. He praised their unwavering commitment, acknowledging their unparalleled dedication in safeguarding the nation.

PM Modi encouraged contributions to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, underscoring the importance of supporting these heroes.

Since 1949, December 7 marks the observance of Armed Forces Flag Day, a solemn occasion honoring the valor of soldiers who fought fearlessly for the nation’s safety.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh urged citizens to generously donate to the Armed Forces Flag Day (AFFD) Fund, emphasizing the responsibility to ensure the welfare of ex-servicemen, war widows, and their families.

Singh stressed the moral duty of every citizen to support the Ministry of Defence’s efforts in caring for veterans and their dependents through various welfare schemes.

He highlighted soldiers’ dedication to securing borders, participating in relief operations, and peacekeeping missions worldwide.

Additionally, Singh paid tribute to soldiers who sacrificed their lives or became disabled while safeguarding the nation’s unity and sovereignty.

He emphasized the significance of recognizing their immense contributions and honoring their sacrifices.
