Delhi Experiences Highest Winter Power Demand, Peaks at 5701 MW
As temperatures drop, Delhi witnessed its highest-ever winter power demand, reaching 5701 MW at 10:49 am on Friday.
This surpassed the previous records set on January 10 and January 5.
Since January 1, the city’s peak power demand has risen by over 11%. BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) and BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) successfully met the peak power demand of 2484 MW and 1185 MW, respectively.
Approximately 60% of the maximum ‘winter’ power demand will be fulfilled by green power, including solar, hydropower, wind power, and waste-to-energy sources.
Despite the challenging winter conditions, the city’s power infrastructure ensures a reliable supply to consumers.
