DC Ranjeet Singh Enforcement Review Yields Rs 3.16 Cr in GST Penalties
Deputy Commissioner Ranjeet Singh of the State Taxes Enforcement in Kathua, with headquarters at Lakhanpur, recently conducted a comprehensive review of the enforcement activities carried out by the Kathua wing from April 2023 to December 23, 2023.
The meeting saw the participation of Assistant Commissioner Lakhanpur, along with the State Tax Officers (STOs) and other field staff from the enforcement wing. One of the major highlights of the review was the commendable achievement of collecting Rs 3.16 crore in penalties from GST defaulters.
During the specified period, penalties were predominantly imposed on various commodities, including cases lacking proper documentation, marble/granite, metal scrap, furniture products, tobacco products, and other instances of non-compliance.
Notably, the office of the Deputy Commissioner State Taxes observed a significant surge in revenue realization, marking a 73% increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
This achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Deputy Commissioner State Taxes Enforcement Lakhanpur and the vigilant supervision of Ranjeet Singh. The overall oversight of the entire operation was provided by Additional Commissioner State Taxes Namrata Dogra and Dr. Rashmi Singh, Commissioner of the State Taxes Department.
