Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, announced that the counting of votes for the 2024 JK Assembly elections will start at 8 AM on October 8. A total of 28 counting centres have been set up for the 90 assembly constituencies across 20 districts in the Union Territory (UT).

Strict three-tier security arrangements have been implemented at the counting centres, including checkpoints within a 100-meter perimeter. CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor all activities around the counting areas.
