Congress Replaces Bharatsinh Solanki as JK In-Charge After Poll Defeat
The Congress has replaced Bharatsinh Solanki as its Jammu and Kashmir in-charge, following the party’s dismal performance in the recent J&K Assembly elections.
Solanki’s removal comes four months after the formation of a fact-finding committee to investigate the party’s worst-ever electoral defeat in the region. Local party workers had criticised Solanki’s leadership, citing ticket misallocation and a lackluster election campaign as key reasons for the debacle.
In response to growing discontent, the Congress high command appointed Syed Naseer Hussain as the new general secretary in-charge of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.
