Congress MLA Criticizes PM’s Praise and CM’s Resignation
During the debate on the confidence motion in the Haryana Assembly today, Congress MLA Raghuvir Kadian expressed his discontent, highlighting the sudden resignation of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar right after being praised by the Prime Minister on March 11.
Kadian emphasized the significance of the event, noting that despite being in the minority, the government brought forth a confidence motion, indicating underlying instability within the ruling party. He attributed this instability to the prevailing anti-incumbency sentiment, stressing that it wasn’t solely directed towards individuals but rather indicative of systemic issues.
Congress MLA Criticizes PM’s Praise:Nayab Singh Saini Moves Confidence Motion
Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini introduced a Confidence Motion in the state Assembly, backed by 41 BJP MLAs and the support of 5 independent MLAs along with HLP MLA Gopal Kanda. Saini, who recently replaced Manohar Lal Khattar, formally staked claim to form the government in the state.
In a significant move, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) instructed its MLAs to remain absent during the voting on the confidence motion. This decision comes in the wake of the collapse of the BJP-JJP alliance and Khattar’s resignation, indicating a shift in political dynamics within the state.
After the alliance between BJP and JJP fell apart, former CM Khattar hinted at disagreements over seat allocations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls as a possible reason for the split.
