Chairperson DDC Kishtwar Leads Meeting to Address Public Concerns
Kishtwar, July 30, 2024 : In a concerted effort to address the pressing issues faced by the residents of District Kishtwar, the Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC), Mrs. Pooja Thakur, chaired a meeting with key officers of the District Administration today here at her office chamber.
The meeting focused on reviewing the status of various critical issues and concerns affecting the local populace.
The meeting saw the participation of several senior officers, including Mr. Ghulam Rasool JKAS, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kishtwar/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the District Council, Mr. Phulail Singh-JKAS, Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Kishtwar, Mr. Shahnawaz Bali, Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Kishtwar, Mr. Sunil Sharma, Executive Engineer Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), and Dr. Rajinder Kumar, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar,Dy CEO Kishtwar Masood Qazi among others.
During the meeting, Mrs. Thakur brought to the forefront several public grievances and critical issues that require immediate attention.
She highlighted the ongoing progress on the water reservoirs in Kishtwar, emphasizing the urgent need to address the persistent water scarcity in the Kishtwar Mandal area and the completion of Kundal to Gulabgarh Water Supply Scheme.
Chairperson also took status of ongoing Water Supply Scheme of JJM across the district and exhorted upon the immediate tendering of Lopara Water Kuhl and Lopara WSS of Dachhan.
She emphasised expediting these projects for timely completion.
The Chairperson also stressed the necessity for adequate availability of water tankers in regions experiencing acute water shortages.
Road maintenance is a significant concern, Mrs. Thakur underscored the importance of restoring and maintaining the roads requiring repair to ensure smooth transportation and connectivity.
In the meeting, a threadbare discussions on plethora of issues was also held and slew of directions were passed to the concerned officers/departments for the redressal of the highlighted issues.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Thakur called upon the officers to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing the concerns of the public.
She urged them to work with dedication and resolve to meet the expectations of the residents and to contribute positively to the district’s development agenda.
