A joint operation conducted by BSF troops and Punjab police in Amritsar district led to the recovery of one packet of suspected heroin from a farming field. The operation was launched following information shared by the BSF intelligence wing regarding narcotics presence in the border area of Amritsar.
The recovered packet, weighing 550 grams, was wrapped in yellow adhesive tape and had a steel ring and an illumination strip attached to it. BSF Punjab Frontier credited the successful recovery to the reliable input of the BSF Intelligence wing and the coordinated efforts of BSF troops with Punjab police.
This recent seizure comes after the BSF recovered a broken drone from a harvesting field adjacent to Ratan Khurd village in Amritsar District. The BSF’s swift response to intelligence inputs underscores its commitment to curbing cross-border smuggling activities.
