Blast at Illegal Firecracker Factory in MP Six Dead 40 Injured, 60 Houses Affected
A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday morning in Madhya Pradesh’s Harda as a blast occurred in an illicit firecracker factory, resulting in the loss of six lives and injuries to 40 others, according to sources familiar with the situation. The authorities are actively engaged in managing the fire, which has now spread to over 60 neighboring houses in the Bairagarh locality of Harda district. In response to the emergency, more than 100 houses have been evacuated to ensure the safety of residents.
The illegal firecracker factory continues to pose a threat, with ongoing explosions adding to the complexity of the situation. Sanjeev Kanchan, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for Harda, provided insights into the incident, stating, “A massive explosion occurred in the factory on Tuesday morning, shrouding the entire city in black smoke. Upon receiving the information, fire brigade vehicles were dispatched to the scene. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and efforts are underway to contain the situation. Ambulances and fire engines have been summoned from various nearby locations, including Harda, Betul, Khandwa, and Narmadapuram.” The incident highlights the dangers associated with illegal manufacturing activities and the critical need for enhanced safety measures to prevent such tragic events in the future.
