In a scathing critique, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla lambasted the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), labeling them the ‘Atikraman and Papi’ Party. Poonawalla alleged that the AAP has constructed its political office on land designated for the Delhi High Court, accusing them of encroachment and a sinful mindset.

Poonawalla didn’t mince words, stating, “AAP does not mean the Aam Aadmi Party; it means the Atikraman (encroachment) and Papi (sinful) Party.” According to him, this encroachment mentality is deeply embedded within AAP and Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, manifesting not only in seizing public land but also in diverting public funds for their own benefit.

The BJP spokesperson further accused AAP of encroaching on public earnings and utilizing those funds to construct opulent infrastructures for personal gain. He specifically pointed to alleged scams, such as the liquor scam and the Mohalla clinic scam, as evidence of the party’s unscrupulous practices. Poonawalla claimed that AAP’s pattern of encroachment extends beyond physical land to financial mismanagement and unethical use of public resources.

Assault on Judiciary and Disregard for Constitutional Values

Poonawalla escalated his criticism, asserting that AAP actively works against the judiciary, the constitution, and the law-and-order system. He claimed that the party disregards judicial summons from central agencies and the court, showcasing a blatant lack of respect for the legal institutions in the country. According to Poonawalla, the Chief Justice of India has taken cognizance of the alleged land encroachment by AAP for their political office.

AAP’s Troubling Anti-Judiciary Stance

Poonawalla concluded by emphasizing AAP’s consistent anti-judiciary stance, highlighting their refusal to allocate funds for the District Court’s infrastructure. He argued that this behavior is indicative of the party’s overall disdain for the judiciary, constitution, and law-and-order system.
