BCCI Unveils India Women’s T20I Squad for Bangladesh Series
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the Indian women’s cricket team squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the team, with Smriti Mandhana as her deputy. The wicketkeeping duties will be shared by Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia. This marks India’s second tour to Bangladesh in as many years.
Last year, the ‘Women in Blue’ faced Bangladesh in a three-match T20 series, which they clinched 2-1 under Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership. This upcoming series will serve as a crucial part of India’s preparations for the T20 World Cup scheduled for September-October in Bangladesh.

India currently holds the third position in the women’s T20I rankings, while Bangladesh is ranked ninth. In the 2023 T20 World Cup, India made it to the semi-finals but were defeated by Australia. They secured their spot in the upcoming T20 World Cup by finishing among the top six teams in the previous edition.
Bangladesh, as the host nation, has qualified directly for the tournament. The India women’s team is set to arrive in Bangladesh on April 23, with the series opener scheduled for April 28. The subsequent matches will be held on April 30, May 2, May 6, and May 24.
India’s squad for the five T20Is against Bangladesh includes: Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Dayalan Hemalatha, Sajana Sajeevan, Richa Ghosh (wk), Yastika Bhatia (wk), Radha Yadav, Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Amanjot Kaur, Shreyanka Patil, Saika Ishaque, Asha Sobhana, Renuka Singh Thakur, and Titas Sadhu.
