Baryl Vanneihsangi, a prominent radio jockey with a substantial Instagram following, has made history by becoming the youngest Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Mizoram. The 32-year-old, affiliated with the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), secured victory in the Aizawl South-III constituency with a lead of 1,414 votes. Her success contributed to the ZPM’s impressive win in the state election, claiming 27 out of 40 seats and overturning the incumbent Mizo National Front (MNF).

Notably, Baryl Vanneihsangi is one of three women elected to the Mizoram assembly. Her Instagram popularity, boasting over 252k followers, has transcended the virtual world into political success.
