
AMU Research Scholar Mohammad Yasir Khan Wins Best Poster Award at International Conference in UK
ALIGARH, June 19, 2026 [VoM News]: Mohammad Yasir Khan, a research scholar in the Department of Chemistry, Aligarh Muslim University, has won the Best Poster Award at UKPorMat 2026, an international conference organized by the Royal Society of Chemistry and hosted by the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.Notably, he was the only Indian researcher to receive a poster award at the conference.
Khan presented his research on the development of advanced Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) for the adsorptive desulphurization of fuels, a promising technology for producing ultra-low sulphur fuels and promoting clean energy solutions. His work received wide appreciation from the international scientific community.
To attend the conference, Khan received the International Travel Support (ITS) Grant from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He is pursuing his doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. M. Shahid, FRSC, Department of Chemistry, AMU.
