
Journalist Narinder Singh Thakur Appointed as J&K UT Press Secretary and District President by NHRSJCI (GLOBAL)
Jammu, June 19, 2026 [VoM News]: The National Human Rights Social Justice Council of India (GLOBAL) is pleased to announce the appointment of journalist Narinder Singh Thakur as Press Secretary for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and District President (Udhampur District). The announcement was formally made at the Press Club Jammu.
The appointment was made under the leadership of Advocate M.I. Zargar Patnavi, Director General of NHRSJCI (GLOBAL), in the presence of Fareed Ahmed Fani, President of the Northern Zone. This recognition reflects Mr. Thakur’s distinguished contributions to journalism, public engagement, and community service.
During the event, Council representatives emphasized the vital role of the media in advancing human rights awareness, promoting social justice, and fostering informed public discourse. They expressed confidence that Mr. Thakur’s experience and leadership will further strengthen National Human Rights Social Justice Council of India (GLOBAL) initiatives and outreach efforts across Jammu & Kashmir.
In his remarks, Mr. Thakur expressed his gratitude to National Human Rights Social Justice Council of India (GLOBAL) for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the principles of human rights, social justice, transparency, and public welfare.
The Council extended its congratulations to Mr. Thakur and conveyed its best wishes for his success in carrying out his new responsibilities.
