Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan to Open for Public from February 3 to March 31, 2026
New Delhi: The Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan, formerly known as the Mughal Gardens, will be open to the public from February 3 to March 31, 2026, the Rashtrapati Bhavan Secretariat announced. Considered one of the most beautifully maintained gardens in India, Amrit Udyan is spread over 15 acres and is a major attraction during its annual public opening.
Originally comprising the East Lawn, Central Lawn, Long Garden and Circular Garden, the Udyan has expanded over the years to include themed spaces such as the Herbal Garden, Tactile Garden, Bonsai Garden and Arogya Vanam, added during the tenures of former Presidents Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind.
New Attractions This Year
According to the official website, Amrit Udyan 2026 will showcase a wide variety of rare seasonal flowers. A key new attraction this year is the “Babbling Brook”, a landscaped water stream featuring cascades, stepping stones, sculptural spouts, reflexology paths and a reflecting pool, designed to offer visitors a refreshing and immersive experience.
Visiting Timings and Closure Days
The garden will be open six days a week, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with the last entry at 5:00 pm.
It will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance and on March 4, 2026, on account of Holi.
Special Days for Specific Groups
The Amrit Udyan will be exclusively open to special groups on select days:
- March 3, 2026: Defence personnel
- March 5, 2026: Senior citizens
- March 10, 2026: Women and tribal women Self-Help Groups
- March 13, 2026: Differently-abled persons
Ticket Booking and Entry
Entry to Amrit Udyan is free, but online booking is mandatory. Tickets can be booked through the official website visit.rashtrapatibhavan.gov.in.
Bookings close at 10:00 am on the previous day, and tickets are issued on an hourly slot basis from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, with seven slots per day. A maximum of six persons can be included in a single booking.
How to Reach
- Entry Gate: Gate No. 35, near North Avenue
- Metro: Central Secretariat (shuttle bus available every 30 minutes)
- Parking: Available for visitors arriving in private vehicles
The annual opening of Amrit Udyan remains one of New Delhi’s most anticipated cultural and tourist events, attracting thousands of visitors eager to experience its floral displays and serene landscapes.
