Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in the Navratri puja at the Sharda temple in Kashmir on Monday, marking a historic occasion as this event took place for the first time since 1947. He emphasized that this moment symbolizes the return of peace to the Kashmir Valley.
The minister expressed that the puja at the Sharda temple represents the revival of the nation’s spiritual and cultural heritage under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Monday, Navratri Puja was held at the newly constructed Sharda temple situated along the Line of Control (LoC) in Teetwal, Kashmir. Notably, the temple was inaugurated by the home minister on March 23 of the same year, occupying the same piece of land and following the same architectural pattern as the original temple that existed before partition.
Amit Shah remarked, “It is of profound spiritual significance that, for the first time since 1947, Navratri pujas have graced the historic Sharda Temple in Kashmir this year. We observed Chaitra Navratri Puja earlier in the year, and now the mantras of the Shardiya Navratri puja resonate within these sacred walls. I had the privilege of reopening the temple on March 23, 2023, following its restoration.”He went on to stress that this event not only symbolizes the return of peace to the valley but also signifies the rekindling of our nation’s spiritual and cultural essence under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The puja witnessed a significant gathering of pilgrims from all corners of the country, further underscoring the spiritual and cultural significance of the occasion.
