Australia passes social media ban bill for under 16 children | Will other Nations do ?
Australia has passed a major landmark bill, aimed at banning the under 16 children from social media, which will effect the tech gaints across the globe. After the bill was passed, now the tech gaints will be forced to stop the children/minors from logging in. If tech gaints fails to do that, they would face a hefty penalty of A$49.5 million ($32 million).
In January month, next year, the ban is likely to be enforced. Though, the major countries like France, some United States, have passed the laws to restrict minors from accessing the social media without the parent’s permission, but the bill passed by Australian government is absolute.

Child Rights group & advocates primarily opposes the ban bill, but latest polls shows that majority of population wants it.
As reported by Reuters, the representatives of Meta, TikTok and X, which the government has said would be affected by the ban, were not immediately available for comment.
