Accidents in Doda and Kishtwar: One Died, 3 Injured
In separate accidents in Doda & Kishtwar, a person identified as a govt teacher lost his life, near Gharsoo area of Doda, whereas three persons got injured in Kishtwar’s Drabshalla.
As per initial details available, a vehicle bearing registeration number JK17-9723, lost the control near Gharsoo, and fell into deep gorge, resulting in the onspot death of a person whose body was retrieved by the locals. As the news of accident spread, the team of police unit Pull Doda, locals started a rescue operation which is still going on, but the said teacher succumbed to the injuries. The body has been sent to GMC & AH DODA for medico/legal proposes.
Another unfortunate accident took place in Kishtwar Drabshalla, where a mini load carrier bearing registeration number JK 17A 3392, fell down from the road and got stucked into a installed shed. As a result, three persons got injured including a child. As earlier, injured were shifted to CHC Thathri for treatment, but after acknowledging the condition, the mother and child were referred to GMC & AH Doda for advanced medical treatment.
But now, our sources says, that a three month child has been referred to GMC Jammu.
However, the details regarding accident are derived from the local sources and initial reports. As more details seems available, we will update the bar ASAP.
It’s pertinent to mention here, that through the visuals being shared through video report on VoM, it can be seen that crash barriers – the last life saving installment is lacking on national highway 44 which itself makes the situation disastrous. Thousand of crores are spent on the road network, but still crash barriers are not witnessed, itself reflects the non-serious attitude of the authorities.
