Accident Injures Ten People Returning from Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Rally
Accident at Kolambe Bridge
A private bus carrying about 20 passengers who were returning from Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Dussehra rally in Mumbai met with an accident in Thane district. The incident occurred around 12:30 am on the Kolambe bridge, situated on the Mumbai-Nashik highway near Shahapur. A truck collided with the bus from behind, pushing it onto the divider. Simultaneously, another bus collided with the truck from behind, causing it to overturn due to the impact.
Injured Passengers
Approximately ten individuals sustained injuries in the accident, with two of them reportedly in serious condition. The injured were taken to a local government hospital for treatment. The police utilized cranes to clear the road and remove the buses involved in the accident.
The first bus, carrying passengers who had attended Chief Minister Shinde’s rally in Mumbai, was en route to Sillod in Nashik district. The accident serves as a reminder of the challenges and risks associated with mass gatherings and the transportation of attendees to and from such events.

On Tuesday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressed a large crowd at the Shiv Sena’s Dussehra rally at Azad Maidan in Mumbai. This event coincided with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray’s annual rally at Shivaji Park, highlighting the political significance and competitive dynamics in the region.
