IRGC Denies Resignation Reports of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, Labels Them “False and Fabricated”
TEHRAN, JUNE 01, 2026 [VoM News]: Global reports regarding the resignation of Iran’s President created a fresh wave of political speculation across the world, but Iranian authorities have denied the claims.
A UK-based outlet, iranintl.com, claimed that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian had sought to resign over the growing influence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran’s wartime decision-making structure.
The viral report further stated that Pezeshkian had submitted a resignation letter to Mojtaba Khamenei. It also alleged that the elected government had been sidelined from key national decisions, accusing the IRGC’s hardliner faction of expanding control over major decision-making processes.
Responding to the claims, IRGC-affiliated tasnimnews.com, citing a government source, described the report as “false and fabricated” and asserted that Iran’s President continues to perform his official duties.
