Asia’s Largest Literature Festival, KLF 2024, to Celebrate Literature and Culture in Kerala
The seventh edition of the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF) is scheduled to take place from January 11 to 14, 2024, on the picturesque beaches of Kozhikode, Kerala. After the resounding success of KLF 2023, which witnessed over half a million attendees, KLF has earned the distinction of being Asia’s Largest Literature Festival.
A Grand Celebration of Literature and Culture
Organized by DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and co-promoted by DC Books, KLF 2024 is set to bring together Nobel laureates, Booker Prize winners, literary luminaries, media personalities, and celebrities. Renowned writer K. Satchidanandan will serve as the Festival Director, ensuring an enriching and diverse literary experience.
Global Speakers and Diverse Discussions
With six venues on the Kozhikode beach, KLF 2024 will host more than 400 global speakers and feature discussions that encompass a wide range of topics. From Science & Technology, History & Politics, Environment, Literature, Business & Entrepreneurship, to Health, Art, Cinema, Theatre, Music & Leisure, Travel & Tourism, Gender, Economy, and more, KLF aims to map literature through multifaceted conversations.
An International Gathering
The Festival will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, and will be a grand celebration of literature and culture. Turkey is the guest country of honor, showcasing its literature and art forms. Additionally, countries such as the UK, Wales, Spain, Japan, USA, Malaysia, Spain, and France will also participate, adding a global dimension to the event.
Distinguished Speakers
An impressive list of speakers includes the likes of Arundhati Roy, Mallika Sarabhai, Shashi Tharoor, Piyush Pandey, Prahlad Kakkar, William Dalrymple, Gurucharan Das, Mani Shankar Aiyer, Catherine Ann Jones, Monika Halan, Durjoy Dutta, and Manu S Pillai.
A Cultural Extravaganza
The Festival will not only celebrate literature but also offer a cultural feast with concerts by TM Krishna and Vikku Vinayakram. Additionally, there will be a Surbahar and Sitar concert featuring Padmabhushan Pandit Budhaditya Mukherjee.
KLF 2024 promises to be an unforgettable event that brings together diverse voices, ideas, and cultures, making it a highlight in the literary calendar.
