Supreme Court Rejects Manish Sisodia’s Bail; BJP Leaders Speculate Kejriwal’s Arrest
The Supreme Court’s refusal to grant bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, citing the tentative establishment of a ₹338 crore money trail, has sparked reactions from BJP leaders, who now speculate the imminent arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Delhi BJP MP Manoj Tiwari remarked, “Now that the Supreme Court has rejected Manish Sisodia’s bail plea, it is clear that the top leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party was involved in the liquor scam. Now the arrest of the top leadership is imminent, including that of Kejriwal.”
The BJP’s national spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawala, expressed that the denial of bail by the Supreme Court was a significant blow to AAP, as it highlighted the establishment of a money trail leading to the Aam Aadmi Party. He pointed out that the party had repeatedly denied the existence of such a trail, and the Supreme Court’s verdict contradicted these claims.
Poonawala added, “Kejriwal should resign immediately for not only defending the corrupt but for his own role in this sharab ghotala.”
In its verdict, the Supreme Court stated, “One aspect, with regard to the transfer of ₹338 crore, is tentatively established. Therefore, we have dismissed the bail application.” The decision means that Manish Sisodia will remain in custody for at least another three months.
