February 16: “`Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police have arrested drug peddler in Kupwara and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

A police party led by SHP Police Station Kralpora intercepted a suspected person during naka checking at Reddi Chowkibal. During search, approximately 40 grams of charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Abdul Rasheed Mir son of Sonaullah Mir resident of Zonareshi. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 07/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kralpora and further investigation has been initiated.

Police remains committed to eradicating the drug menace and urges the public to support police by reporting any information related to drug peddling or other unlawful activities.“`
