Colleges in Kashmir to Reopen After Winter Break; Schools Set to Resume in March

Srinagar, Feb 14: After a 50-day winter vacation, degree colleges in the Kashmir Valley are set to resume academic activities on Saturday, following the official schedule announced by the J&K Higher Education Department.

Winter Vacation Timeline:

• Colleges in Kashmir & Winter Zone Jammu: December 27, 2024 – February 14, 2025.
• Colleges in Summer Zone Jammu: January 1 – January 10, 2025.
• Schools in Kashmir & Winter Zone Jammu:
  • Up to 5th Standard: December 10 – February 28, 2025.
  • 6th to 12th Standard: December 16 – February 28, 2025.
  • Teaching Staff to Report: February 10, 2025, for board exam preparations.

Board Exams & School Reopening

Meanwhile, over 2 lakh students of 10th and 12th standards will appear for their annual board exams starting tomorrow. Schools across Kashmir and the winter zones of Jammu are set to reopen on March 1, 2025.

Authorities have assured that all necessary arrangements are in place for a smooth resumption of academic activities.
