JK Govt Deputes Officers for Regional Wetlands Conservation Workshop in Ayodhya

Srinagar, Jan 31, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir Department of Forest, Ecology, and Environment has sanctioned the deputation of key officials to participate in the Regional Workshop for Northern States/UTs on Conservation and Wise Use of Wetlands.

The workshop is scheduled for February 1, 2025, in Ayodhya, followed by the World Wetlands Day celebrations on February 2 at the Parvati Arga Ramsar Site in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh.

The workshop, organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (Wetlands Division), aims to promote sustainable wetland conservation practices across Northern India.

JK Govt Places +2 Principals as In-Charge Chief Education Officers

The event will be graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the Union Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change, among other dignitaries.

As per Government Order No. 18-JK(FST) of 2025, issued on January 29, 2025,
officials from Jammu and Kashmir will represent the region at the event.

These include Sh. Majid Farooq, Junior Scientist, Department of Ecology, Environment & Remote Sensing, J&K, Sh. Altaf Hussain Dentoo, Wildlife Warden, Wetlands Division, Kashmir – In-charge of Ramsar sites in Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, Wildlife Warden, Jammu – In-charge of Gharana Ramsar Site in the Jammu region.
