Pulwama Police Crack Down on Illegal Mining, Seize Vehicles and Arrest 7

In a significant crackdown on illegal mining activities, the police in Pulwama have seized seven vehicles, including four tippers, one tractor, and two JCB machines, at the village of Kariamabad Pulwama. The operation also led to the arrest of seven drivers involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Ganaie, son of Abdul Rasheed Ganaie; Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Karim Bhat; Irfan Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad; Tanveer Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir; and Mohd Maqbool Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir—all residents of Karimabad Pulwama. Additionally, Nawaz Ahmad Wagay, son of Fayaz Ahmad Wagay, a resident of Baderhama Shopian, and Aadil Ali Khan, son of Ali Mohammad Khan, from Kakapora, were also apprehended.
Following their arrests, a case was promptly registered under the relevant sections of law at the Police Station Pulwama, and an investigation has been launched to uncover further details surrounding the illegal operations.
The police have issued a stern warning that individuals found participating in illegal mining activities will be dealt with according to the law.
Authorities are committed to clamping down on these unlawful practices, which not only harm the environment but also rob the community of valuable resources.
