Bhat, who was a juvenile at the time of the attack, was identified as the perpetrator. The attack occurred on March 7, 2019, when suspected terrorists threw a grenade near a crowded bus stand.
Yasir Bhat was a known operative of the Hizbul Mujahideen, a militant group, and was allegedly instructed by Farooq Ahmed Bhat, also known as Omar, the District Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen in Kulgam.
