Key Highlights:

  1. Principals and cluster heads lose authority over staff rationalization.
  2. Only Joint Directors, with Directors’ approval, can now handle deployments.
  3. Strict legal action will be taken against any violation of this new directive.

JAMMU, Aug 2: The School Education Department (SED) has introduced a significant policy shift in how staff rationalization is handled within educational institutions. In a move aimed at streamlining and centralizing the process, the SED has stripped principals and cluster heads of their authority to make decisions regarding the rationalization of staff.

This responsibility is now exclusively vested in Joint Directors, who must obtain approval from the respective Directors before making any decisions related to staff deployments or arrangements.

The directive further tightens control by prohibiting Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) from engaging in any form of staff rationalization or deployment activities.

This centralized approach is designed to ensure that staffing decisions are made with a higher level of oversight and consistency, reducing the risk of mismanagement or favoritism.

The SED has issued a stern warning to all educational officers, emphasizing that any violation of this new directive will result in strict legal consequences. Officers found engaging in unauthorized staff rationalization or deployment activities will be held accountable and face serious legal action.

This measure underscores the department’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and equitable process for managing staff across educational institutions.

This policy change reflects the SED’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality and fairness of education administration.

By centralizing authority and increasing oversight, the department aims to enhance the overall efficiency of the education system in Jammu and ensure that staffing decisions are made in the best interest of the institutions and their students.
