Rahul Gandhi urges PM Modi to discuss NEET exam irregularities in Parliament
INDIA 28 June,2024 : Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has made a passionate appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to prioritize a “respectful” and comprehensive discussion on the alleged irregularities in the conduct of the NEET exam. Addressing reporters in the Parliament complex on Friday, Gandhi emphasized that this issue is of paramount importance as it concerns the future of the country’s youth.
NEET Issue Takes Center Stage
Gandhi highlighted the urgency of addressing the NEET issue, suggesting that it should be discussed before the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address is taken up.
“The NEET issue is the most important issue of the day,” the Congress leader stated, underscoring the widespread agreement among opposition parties that this matter requires immediate attention. The opposition’s unified stance reflects the critical nature of the concerns raised by students across the nation.
“The youth are worried and they do not know what is going to happen,” Gandhi expressed, pointing to the anxiety and uncertainty plaguing students. He stressed the need for Parliament to send a reassuring message to the youth, indicating that both the government and the opposition are aligned in addressing their concerns. This collaborative approach, he argued, is essential to restoring confidence among students and ensuring the integrity of the examination process.
Call for Assurance and Unity
Gandhi’s call for a thorough discussion on the NEET irregularities comes at a crucial time, as students and parents alike are seeking clarity and assurance about the future of the examination system.
By advocating for a united front in Parliament, Gandhi aims to demonstrate that the government and opposition can work together to safeguard the interests of the country’s youth. This, he believes, is vital for the stability and credibility of India’s educational system.
