JK Tourism Conclave Highlights Film Tourism Potential and Economic Benefits
At the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Conclave, Director Information Sh. Jatin Kishore presented an insightful presentation on Film Tourism in J&K, highlighting the region’s cultural and scenic attractions as ideal for film productions.
He outlined initiatives to attract filmmakers, including the J&K Film Policy, which has led to over 350 film shooting permissions being issued. A Single Window System has been established to facilitate filmmakers. A panel discussion followed, featuring industry professionals like Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bharadwaj, and Kabir Khan.
They discussed Kashmir’s potential for film shooting, promoting tourism, boosting local economies, and creating employment opportunities. The session included an interactive Q&A with stakeholders from the film and tourism industries.
The conclave aims to explore new avenues for promoting tourism in the region. The presentation and panel discussion showcased the potential of film tourism in J&K and its benefits for the local economy.
