Doda Police arrests most wanted criminal/absconder from Punjab
Doda, May 27: In a significant development, a Police Party from Police Station Gandoh, District Doda, has apprehended a long-sought-after fugitive, Ghulam Qadir, son of Maher Bakesh, resident of Malath Tehsil Gandoh. Qadir was wanted in connection with FIR No 57/2007 under sections 302 and 307 of RPC, along with 7/27 A.Act, and FIR No 103/2006 under the same sections, registered at PS Gandoh. Despite being on the run since 2006, the relentless efforts of the police led to his arrest.

A dedicated team was formed at PS Gandoh, utilizing both human intelligence and technical assistance to track down the fugitive, ultimately culminating in his arrest from Punjab. Notably, Qadir, a Surrender Militant, had been declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble Court of JMIC Gandoh in 2023.
He is implicated in the murders of Abdul Latief, son of Mohd Ibrahim, resident of Champal Amraie Tehsil Chilly Pingal, and Mohd Ishaq, son of Zahoor Din, resident of Malath Tehsil Gandoh. This arrest marks a significant victory for law enforcement, bringing a notorious criminal to justice after years of evasion.
