The Medical Board at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has uncovered yet another case of a candidate securing provisional admission in the MBBS program at GMC Udhampur using a fraudulent disability certificate.

The available information reveals that three students, Dhakshi Langeh (UT Rank 3159), Gowhar Ali (UT Rank 2629), and Abrar Ahmed (UT Rank 3781), were provisionally admitted under the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwD) category in GMC Udhampur.

However, upon a thorough examination of these candidates’ disability claims, requested by the Principal of GMC Udhampur, the Medical Board of GMC Jammu discovered a case of an “old united fracture of the left distal humerus and left patella with orthopedic implants in situ” in Abrar Ahmed, the son of Talib Bussain, a resident of Anmbaran (Akhnoor, Jammu).

Although Abrar Ahmed’s disability certificate, issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Jammu under number JK2110620000130860 dated 14-08-2023, indicated a disability of 40%, the Medical Board of GMC Jammu found, upon examination, that he had no disability, and the symptoms he presented could be addressed by removing the implants.

Sources suggest that the Medical Board’s findings have been shared with the Principal of GMC Udhampur. In turn, the Principal will recommend to the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) to cancel Abrar Ahmed’s provisional admission.
