The Chhattisgarh cabinet, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has given its approval to restore the old pension scheme for officers and employees of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies who were appointed after January 1, 2004. This significant decision was made during a cabinet meeting convened at the chief minister’s residence.
Additionally, the cabinet has endorsed the establishment of a State Mahua Board, which will focus on activities related to the collection, value addition, processing, and utilization of Mahua—a crucial forest produce collected by tribal communities. Mahua serves as a vital resource for forest-dwelling communities in the state. The board’s mandate will also extend to exploring the production of biodiesel or ethanol through Mahua.
