He highlighted Bihar’s pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle, particularly mentioning Mahatma Gandhi’s advocacy against British rule. Kharge urged Bihar to once again safeguard democracy and contribute to upholding the Constitution.

Significance of Bihar Day
Bihar Day, observed annually on March 22, commemorates the formation of the state of Bihar in 1912 when it was separated from Bengal by the British. It is a public holiday in Bihar, marking an important milestone in the state’s history.
The messages come amidst preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 19 and concluding on June 1. Earlier, Jan Adhikar Party chief Pappu Yadav merged his party with Congress, consolidating his political influence in Bihar. The move underscores the strategic alliances being forged ahead of the elections, with various parties seeking to strengthen their electoral prospects.
Previous Election Results & Lok Sabha Elections 2024
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA emerged victorious in Bihar, securing 39 out of 40 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, comprising RJD, INC, and RLSP, managed to win only one seat.
